After working on her sun painting, Agerd continued working with nature, resulting in this ocean scene painted entirely in solvent-based paints. Through subject matter, composition, and materials, Agerd creates a dense complex of meaning and consideration.

This single painting unites the four fundamental elements of the esotericists in the sun (fire), ocean (water), mountain (earth), and wind (air). But in the arrangement, Agerd also brings in psychological conceptions of the soul. Here, the ocean represents the subconscious id, the mountain that reaches below and high above the superego, and the open area that negotiates these two the ego.
